1. Overview

At HELP Foundation, we are committed to transparency and accountability in all our financial transactions. This Refund Policy outlines the circumstances under which refunds may be issued for donations made to our organization.

We deeply appreciate your generosity and support. Every donation helps us make a difference in the lives of those in need.

2. Donation Refund Policy

Generally, all donations made to HELP Foundation are considered final and non-refundable. Once a donation is processed, it is immediately allocated to our programs and initiatives.

However, we understand that exceptional circumstances may arise. Refunds may be considered in the following situations:

  • Duplicate Donation: If you accidentally made two donations for the same amount within a short period
  • Technical Error: If there was a technical glitch that resulted in an incorrect amount being charged
  • Unauthorized Transaction: If a donation was made without your consent using your payment method
  • Wrong Campaign Selection: If you donated to the wrong campaign and request within 48 hours

3. Refund Request Timeline

Refund requests must be submitted within 7 days from the date of donation. Requests received after this period will not be entertained.

  • Refund requests must be made in writing via email
  • Supporting documents may be required (bank statement, transaction receipt, etc.)
  • Processing time: 10-15 business days after approval

4. Refund Process

If your refund request is approved, the refund will be processed as follows:

  • Online Donations: Refund will be credited back to the original payment method (credit card, debit card, UPI, net banking, etc.)
  • Bank Transfer: Refund will be transferred to the original bank account
  • Cash/Cheque: Refund will be issued via cheque or bank transfer

Please note that transaction fees, gateway charges, or taxes deducted at the time of donation may not be refundable.

5. Non-Refundable Situations

Refunds will NOT be provided in the following cases:

  • Change of mind after making a donation
  • Donations made more than 7 days ago
  • Disagreement with our mission or programs
  • Donations made through third-party fundraising platforms
  • Cash donations without proper receipt documentation
  • Refund requests without valid transaction details

6. Volunteer/Member Registration Refunds

Any fees paid for volunteer registration, membership, or event participation are generally non-refundable. However, refunds may be considered on a case-by-case basis if:

  • The event is cancelled by the organization
  • You withdraw registration at least 7 days before the event
  • Valid medical or emergency reasons with supporting documentation

7. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, please follow these steps:

  • Step 1: Send an email to refunds@helpfoundation.org
  • Step 2: Include your full name, donation date, donation amount, and transaction ID
  • Step 3: Provide a brief explanation for the refund request
  • Step 4: Attach supporting documents (bank statement, payment screenshot, etc.)

Our team will review your request and respond within 5-7 business days.

8. Required Information for Refund

To process your refund quickly, please provide the following information:

  • Full Name (as per payment method)
  • Email Address used for donation
  • Phone Number
  • Donation Amount
  • Transaction ID / Reference Number
  • Date of Donation
  • Payment Method Used
  • Reason for Refund Request
  • Bank Account Details (if refund via bank transfer)

9. Tax Benefit Implications

If you have claimed tax benefits (under Section 80G or similar) for your donation, please note that claiming a refund may affect your tax benefits. You may need to reverse any tax benefits claimed. Consult your tax advisor for guidance.

10. Dispute Resolution

If you are not satisfied with our refund decision, you may escalate the matter to:

  • Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in New Delhi, India
